Public Worship Resumes

MONDAY 29th JUNE ~ PUBLIC WORSHIP RESUMES

It is a relief that the two churches in the parish can open again at the end of the month for public worship, subject to the regulations laid down by the Government. The month of July will be a month of learning for all of us as we adapt to what is possible in gathering as a congregation. To protect ourselves and others from the serious threat that Covid-19 still presents us we have to adhere strictly to -

· Physical distancing (currently 2 metres)

· Good hand hygiene

· Respiratory etiquette

· Regular cleaning and sanitising of shared spaces.

A NUMBER OF IMPORTANT POINTS

· The dispensation from the Sunday and Holy Day obligation is

extended for the time being.

· Therefore all Masses celebrated in the parish in the week have the

same status.

PROPOSED MASS TIMES FOR THE MONTH OF JULY

In all, we have 8 Masses in the Parish during the week and the timetable of Masses will be tweaked to facilitate as many as possible (commencing from 29th June).

Monday 10.00am All Saints Church, Newtown

Tuesday 7.30pm All Saints Church, Newtown

Wednesday 10.00am All Saints Church, Newtown

Thursday 7.30pm All Saints Church, Newtown

Friday 10.00am Church of Immaculate Conception, Killea

Saturday 6.30pm All Saints Church, Newtown Sunday 9.30am Church of Immaculate Conception, Killea

11.00am All Saints Church, Newtown

We ask parishioners to only attend one Mass in the week during the weeks of July in order for us to prevent any bottlenecks arising. Both chapels have now been laid out with white markers on the seats / pews instructing us where we can sit in a safe way. I invite you over these next few weeks to visit the churches and to familiarise yourself with the seat allocations.

For those of you who are elderly and those who are especially vulnerable, it would be wise not to attend. Live streaming of the Masses will continue and hopefully visiting the sick with communion will again be possible very soon. There are many other points to consider, but please consider carefully the points above for now.
