Every Christian is called to mission by God. Our task is to bring our faith into our daily lives, our work, our leisure our prayer and our homes.

The sacrament of Holy Orders is a particular sacrament of ministerial priesthood conferred on people whose mission in life is to be conformed wholly into Jesus Christ by giving their lives completely to Him and to the community entrusted to them by the bishop on his behalf.

The parish of Newtowncunningham and Killea has a long and rich tradition of good priests who have served the parish community with zeal and dedication. Priests have always received a warm welcome from the people they serve.

At present the parish is served by the following priest

Parish Priest:    Fr Ciaran Harkin

I am delighted to serve the people of Newtown/Killea and we welcome the ideas of our parishioners as well as your prayers.

There is at present a shortage of priests and deacons in the archdiocese of Dublin. Any young man who would like to pursue a vocation to be a priest is most welcome to have a chat with any of the priests and / or with the Vocations Directors of the diocese Fr Rory Brady 0979141616 or Fr Jonathan Flood 074 9206905.

The harvest is rich but the labourers are few. There is no shortage of hard work ahead of you!
